Voyage
Coronado only went on one major voyage, and that was when he went to the New World. He lead an expedition that lead from modern day Mexico to modern day Kansas. During his voyage he was in two battles/wars, the spanish conquest of Mexico and the exploration of North America. He was only in America for two years before he was wounded in battle and had to go back to Spain. His service began in 1535 where he went to New Spain and married Betriz. They then left for America and got there in 1540. Soon after they got to America a roomer of the seven golden cities spread around. He got a group of men together to find the seven cities, because he thought he would have great fortune and a lot of power. It ended up taking him and his men four months to get to the first city, Cibola. Once they got there they had one major problem. He wanted to get rid of the Apache that lived there, but they did not want to leave. Even after Coronado and his men threatened their lives they would not leave. Soon a war broke out between them. During this battle Coronado was hit with a rock and wounded. He then had to go back to New Spain with his wife. His men went on to find many new things in the New world such as the Grand Canyon. Coronado then died September 22, 1554.
